Your pet has just undergone surgery today. To ensure a smooth and safe recovery, please follow these post-operative care guidelines:

 Activity:

°Keep your pet quiet and indoors tonight.

°No running, jumping, or rough play for the next 10–14 days.

°Leash walks only for bathroom breaks.

 Incision Care:

°Do not bathe your pet or allow swimming for 14 days.

°Check the incision daily for redness, swelling, discharge, or an opening of the wound.

°Do not allow your pet to lick or chew at the incision. Use an e-collar or protective garment if needed.

 Feeding:

°Offer a small meal this evening. A mild decrease in appetite for 24 hours can be normal after anesthesia.

°If vomiting, diarrhea, or refusal to eat continues beyond 24 hours, please contact our office.

Medications:

°Give prescribed medications as directed. Do not skip doses.

Recheck Appointment:

 ° If your pet has had a spay/neuter the sutures are dissolvable and there is no need for a return visit.

°If your pet has had any surgery other than spay/ neuter, please return in 14 days for suture removal. The best time to come for suture removal is in the afternoon.

 If you notice any unusual swelling, bleeding, lethargy, or if your pet seems painful, please contact our office right away.
